CGRemote, a remote dashboard for CGMiner, BFGMiner, and SGMiner

Try CGRemote Free
Current Version: 2.0.0.20

Although CGWatcher makes it so you don't need to monitor your miners, we all still want to have control of everything at our fingertips. CGRemote is a powerful management tool incorporating an array of options to customize your miners. It will allow you to tell each one what to do and when to mine, and does not require you to run a web server. If you want to have a CGWatcher-like monitor for your Linux, OSX, or Raspberry Pi miners, CGRemote will do that too. CGRemote is the only remote monitor where you can browse the filesystems of your remote miners, edit your miner’s profiles, and run and close programs remotely… even if your display drivers crash. For miners running CGWatcher, you’ll have all the features of CGWatcher anywhere you go… without having to set which IP address you’ll be using ahead of time. There's a reason CGWatcher is running on almost 90,000+ computers in 70+ countries ... and it's not just the pretty icon.

What users are saying:

"My hash rate went up 5% because I stopped using VNC and switched to CGRemote. Thank you!" -Mitchell "Awesome." -(many users)
"WOW! Amazing work" -Ryan "Just what I needed!" -David "You are a GREAT man!!!" -Alexander
"Justin, this is the kick-assiest app I have seen in a long time!" -Russell "Dude, this is f**king awesome and easy!!!" -Vlad

New features added in Update #6

News:

February, 2015 - CGWatcher and CGRemote are no longer associated with CoinMyne, Inc. and are back under my control.

March 10, 2014 - The official CGRemote page is moving! Please visit the new page at http://www.minerremote.com. I will continue to use this blog to post updates on projects and progress.

Features:
Manage all of your miners from one screen, regardless of location. Any miner on any OS running cgminer or bfgminer can be controlled, and miners running CGWatcher will be capable of several additional features.

Remote Control

Start, stop, restart, and switch the profile of your remote miners in one or two clicks.

View Pools

View all pools on all miners, and see how how much hardware is being pointed to each pool.

Profile Management

Create, edit, and delete profiles for all remote miners running CGWatcher.

File Explorer

Manage files on all remote miners running CGWatcher, as well as the local computer running CGRemote, in the built-in File Explorer.

Text Editor

Create and edit text files and save them directly to remote miners or the local computer.

Config File Editor

Easily create and edit config files, seeing all available settings and descriptions without having to go back to the readme.

Launch Programs

Right-click on any program on a remote miner in File Explorer and select 'Run program' to have CGWatcher launch the program on that miner.

Remote Task Manager

View running processes on remote miners and relevant process information, including whether or not the process is responding. End processes remotely.

Restart Remote Computer

CGRemote will make sure CGWatcher is set to run at startup before sending the command to restart the computer so you don't lose access after the restart.

Add and Switch Pools on All (or selected) Miners at Once

Add a new coin to all of your miners in a few clicks. You can then switch miners to that coin without having to go to each individual miner.

Send API Commands to All (or selected) Miners at Once

Access the miner and all available functionality directly through its API by sending commands directly to all, or selected, miners at once.

Coin Profitability

Check the profitability of all alt-coins in the Profitability window, including prices in 25+ different currencies based on the past 24 hour average.

Get CGRemote:
Go to the new CGRemote site at http://www.minerremote.com

Screenshots:

Miners listed in Row view. By default, miners will be colored depending on their hottest device's temperature, but you can turn this off. Miners that aren't mining are gray, and unavailable miners dark gray. The sidebar on the right will be changing, but provides some simple tasks right now.

Miners listed in Grid view. Moving the mouse over the thermometer displays temps for each device. The hottest device temperature is also displayed next to the thermometer.

Complete device list. Will ultimately be sortable, and clicking a device's button opens a device detail window with additional information and controls.

All windows are resizable, to take up a minimal amount of the screen.

Each miner can then be opened in its own window, which can be resized down to just display the hashrates. The colors of these windows can be customized for each miner to make them easier to distinguish from each other. Each miner remembers its window size and position.

Windows opened for each of the four miners and stacked.

File Explorer in CGRemote 1.0.6 allows for managing all miner filesystems as well as the local (CGRemote) filesystem in one application. You can navigate all miners in one window, or open as many windows as you need.

The Text Editor (background) and the Save As dialog window (foreground).

New Tools menu in each miner window allows you to open that miner's Profile Manager, Explorer, Settings, or a blank Text Editor. A new Screen Capture option will get a screen capture of the miner (currently primary monitor only) and display it in CGRemote. (Edit: in update #6 a 'restart computer' option has been added to the menu.)

  3. This is such a good idea, I like it even more as it'll be a part of CGMiner.

Before finding out about CGRemote I was going to do the whole remote control thing using Apache, but after hearing that you were working on it. I decided it would be best to wait.

I really cant wait for this. Really good work.

  6. Code Fridge has a good idea. If it was able to run as a web app too that'd be killer. Fire it off on a specific port, require a login. Remote management!

As for cost, since this is geared toward crypto currency projects why not "charge" 0.01 BTC instead of $0.50 USD? A trial would be nice to check out features though.

  7. Would like to donate to your work as well, as I'm very interested in CGRemote :) Can't seem to find a LTC address I could send support to though ):

  15. I would love to get in on this as well, I just found cgwatcher put it on one of my miners the other day that was problematically having cards go offline occasionally. Since installing cgwatcher, no more issues. Now to install on my other 5 rigs, which would be really nice to watch from cgremote.

  17. Is there any chance there will be an Android app which acts as sort of a light CGRemote? I am sure I am not the only one who desperately needs to be able to keep an eye on my machines from a my phone.

    1. That is the plan, although initially it will be through a website that you can log into if you have CGRemote (it will come with a web account). That would allow most functionality from any browser (including phones), and then phone/tablet apps will be created after that. More information on this will be posted soon.

    1. First, thanks for donating. What was the transaction and when did you send it? Sending to the address alone is not enough, you also have to email me so I can add your email address to the mailing list and send you the download link and info on getting started... preferably send the email prior to or just after sending the transaction. The process is not automated at the moment so if you don't send an email with transaction info I have no way of knowing who sent it.

I just sent you an email with a download link and information on getting started, and I added your email to the beta email list. The passkey is something you create - enter the same passkey in CGWatcher and CGRemote to allow them to communicate with each other.

Thanks again for the donation, and let me know if you have any questions. Leave a comment here if I don't respond to emails within a day or two in case I don't get those either.

    1. Just to clear this up since the comment sounds as though I'm being deceptive, I had raised the minimum donation for PayPal donations from $10 to $15 about 10 days ago after realizing how much in fees I was paying, and to encourage cryptocoin spending. I had missed changing this in one place on this page, which Down South Vapor pointed out to me. He had initially donated $11.11, and after realizing my mistake I added him to the beta and corrected the value on this page. He then donated $4 anyway, which I appreciate, but at that point I had already sent him a download link (or at least was already writing it, I can't say for certain who sent first but I did not see the additional $4 until I added him and sent him a download link). If anyone has any questions about donation minimums, I encourage them to ask before sending anything. Thanks again Down South Vapor for the donation and for bringing the mistake to my attention.

    1. The latest version is 1.0.7.3, but any version starting with 1.0.7 should work. To make sure you have the latest version, you can download again using the same link in the email I sent. I just launched it here and it started, so I'm not sure why you would see that unless you're using 1.0.6 or older. Also, there are two backup websites it will try if the first one is down, and I just checked all three and they are working normally.

If you are using 1.0.7.3 and still cannot connect, please email me. You can see the version number in the splash screen displayed as CGRemote is loading.

  53. Great work, Justin. Question for you - I'd like to be able to use CGRemote to send a notification to another application when a miner becomes unresponsive. This functionality doesn't seem to be directly available yet (although maybe I'm missing something). What would be the best way to accomplish this? Set something up to monitor the debug log and look for a Socket.Connect Exception?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There will be a pretty advanced scheduler in CGRemote, so, for example, you could set it to launch a program or script when a miner becomes unavailable, and then you'd have complete control over what you want that program or script to do. Having CGRemote send a notification of some sort to another application would require specific coding for your needs, which would not be practical with all the other things I want to get implemented.

One question that I'm trying to figure out, how can I launch separate cgminer instances for each GPU?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If you're referring to CGWatcher, you can run multiple instances - one for each miner instance... but there are two things you need to do for it to work correctly: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=159267.msg3853830#msg3853830

Once you have separate instances, you can add each one in CGRemote and it treats them as separate miners.

    ReplyDelete
  73. There is currently no limit to the number of miners you can add in the beta... I want everyone to make sure that it works correctly with all of their miners. It is compatible with Windows 8.1, in fact a lot of development is done on Windows 8.1 x64. I'm not sure when it will be released... there are a few more goals that need completed before that can happen. And even after it is released, it will still be in active development and updates released to make improvements and add functionality.

  83. Please stop posting about donations in the comments here. There is only a limited number of comments before Blogger stops listing them, which then makes it impossible for me to reply to new ones. If you donate, send an email as per the instructions above. If you don't hear from me within 24 hours, check that you sent to the correct address and also check your spam folder. These two reasons have been the case 100% of the time that people have posted here about donating and not receiving a reply.

    Thanks..

    1. It's a false positive, and it's not really saying it's a trojan... it is flagging it because it is obfuscated/packed using Confuser so the code is more difficult to copy. You're welcome to report it to your antivirus software maker if you're concerned.

    1. Give Justin some time to reply. He is a stand up guy and has a great product. He is doing most of it manually but I would guess that with his move to CA more things will be come more automated. I have had a few communications with him about some issues I was having and he is more than happy to help and try to get the fixed or added features. If you dont have a link right away, wait. Most of the comments are just people not checking their SPAM folder or impatient. Justin, Keep up the good work and I cant wait to see what you come up with next.

  87. Is it possible to use this on SGminer or it's only for CGminer?

Thanks for your hard work! Looks amazing.

    1. Basic functionality should work with sgminer since it is a fork of cgminer. But I haven't had a chance yet to dig into sgminer and see if any changes were made that I need to account for. It is something I plan to do as soon as possible.

  90. Just donated last night, can't wait to get the remote! Thanks for all the work you do!

  91. Donated just not. Looking forward to using CGRemote. Is going to be a huge time saver.

    ReplyDelete
  92. No, there is currently no limit. I want everyone to be able to check that it works for all of their miners, so no plans on putting the limit in place while still in beta.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Will there be a charge for the users didn't participate in the beta once cgremote become public?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, I'll post pricing info as soon as it is finalized. The idea behind the beta was to give early access to people who had donated, then give them CGRemote free when it is released. The price started at only $10 because at the time there were limited features so everyone who donated was trusting that I would complete it. As more features are added and it becomes more complete, the price may be adjusted to reflect that.

  97. hi i want to participate with cgremote but i only want it to work in my local network , is it possible?

  98. yes sk, i run both local and remote rigs with it. CGREMOTE ROCKS!

  99. hey justin. I use one profile with multiple pools. It would be nice to see which pool it is currently mining on when looking at the devices. I generally use the wider device list so i was thinking where it says the coin you are mining at then the pool. Just a feature that I would find helpful.

  100. I know a lot of the more advanced features of CGRemote utilize CGWatcher, but for those of us running some form of Linux on our miners, is there any chance you'll be adding any similar features? At the very least, a simple button to connect to the selected miner with an SSH client (PuTTY, etc.) would be fantastic.

  101. Is there any way of changing the default port? I live on a university campus so have no access to the router, do you think theres anyway I can get cremote to work? I have donated and it would be a shame if I can't :/

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Under "Add Miner" it lets you enter a specific port. Just make sure you specify the port on the miner (in cgminer.conf, or I assume in CGWatcher if you're using that).

      Delete
    2. Yes, but the problem is I want to change the port shown in CGWatcher. Currently it is 5121, I want to set it to something that is already open on my network. The Port box is greyed out and I can't see any way of editing it.

      Delete
    3. You have to turn off the remote monitor to change the port... so un-check the box at the top of the Remote tab, change the port, then re-check the box. Sorry, this gets asked a lot... I guess it's not very intuitive.

    4. Ahh thank you, I managed to solve this problem by using hamachi anyway but good to know it can be done :)

  105. Love CGWatcher and just donated BTC, can't wait to see this. CGWatcher has improved my mining setup dramatically! My cards sometimes slow down and CGWatcher will relaunch cgminer to correct this issue! Love CGWatcher and have great expectations for CGRemote. Will be donating more monthly to support you! I always give back to the people who help me! My email is Dale407@gmail.com :) Ty for all your hard work! Keep it up!

    1. Because of the recent increase in new users, I'm only processing payments (manually) once per day. Because we're in different timezones, it was two separate days to you... but the longest you should wait is 24 hours - if you don't hear from me by then please contact me. I just processed today's new users so you should have an email from me. This process will be automated very soon so the only wait will be for confirmations.

  108. it would be great to do it that way that cgwatcher connects to cgremote and not the other way so it is possible to set up a centralized management vm or similar where they all connect to.
also i am waiting for my copy, paid today :-) keep up your good work and thanks for it!

    1. We're working on a web application, so you'll be able to manage your miners from any web browser. This will be followed up with mobile apps. We're also working on cross-platform software to provide additional features to miners - regardless of operating system and even including self-contained mining devices. So the features in CGRemote that are currently only available to miners running CGWatcher will be available on all miners/devices.
